Went to a few shows this week. Glass Harp (Phil Keaggy) played the Dame Thurs night.. He was amazing. Pleasure to see local guitar hero, Jerry Belsak, open up for him. I love to watch Jerry play - love affair with his guitar. Sat I went back to the Dame to see semi-locals, Over the Rhine. I love Linford's keyboard styles...and such clever songwriting. Karin has a great stage presence. Very laid back, but engaging. After their show, I caught a blast from the past: Bill Mallonee of Vigilantes of Love fame. He was opening for someone else, so only did a few songs. He's a great folk-rocker with a rather unusual lyric style, with an unique voice to match. Then Sun night at Short Street Lounge, I saw my boys, Heart Throb Jesus. Frontman, Eliot, works with me over at Common Grounds. These guys rock! Huge energy. Great hardcore with blues/rock undertones. I was very impressed. Check out the pics.
